PART II: HOW I USED ASTROLOGY TO CHOOSE BREAST CANCER TREATMENT

To pick up from my previous post, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and rejected chemo and radiation in favor of homeopathy.

How did I know that drugs and radiation would be poison to me? Here’s a quick tutorial for the astrological novice.

  • My Sun, which represents vitality, is in the 6th house of disease and health problems—traditionally considered a weak placement. It’s in opposition to my Neptune in the 12th house.
  • Neptune rules alcohol, drugs (legal and not even close to legal), poisons, solutions and solvents, dreams, and illusions. The 12thhouse rules infirmity imprisonment, institutionalization, and hidden activity. Double whammy.
    • The lessons from Neptune are learned through consequences of bad decisions in light of HUGE evidence that a particular Neptune-related behavior is a problem.
    • This is also true of the opposition, the aspect my Sun and Neptune have to each other. Triple whammy.
    • I started learning these lessons early. I’m now a recovered alcoholic of 36 years, and have learned that pharmaceuticals are as beneficial for me as rat poison and nuclear waste.
  • As if that isn’t enough I have Mars, the planet of fiery energy square both of those planets, an aspect astrologers call a T-square.
    • Non-astrologers can view my Mars in this position as a tanker full of gasoline speeding into an intersection that will collide with the gas and chemicals of Neptune to go KA-BOOM on my poor Sun.
    • These aspects are really good for writing and other work I do, but lousy for anything that burns, radiates, or drugs. You know—like traditional medicine.

I defected years ago to health building approaches such as acupuncture and more recently, homeopathy. I like to think of the difference between these natural healing approaches and western disease care as the difference between organic farming and farming with chemical pesticides and fertilizers.

The organic approach uses natural materials to support the plant’s health to enable it to protect itself, while the chemical approach kills the plant’s enemies and in the process weakens the plant, reducing its vitality. My body, as indicated by my astrological chart, was a plant already weakened and highly susceptible to further debilitation by chemicals and burning. This knowledge had moved beyond the theoretical to the empirical.

My husband, Jeff, at this time was a second year homeopathic student. On our trip to Disneyland to replace my Mickey watch whose hands fell off the day after I was diagnosed, we listened to a CD of a presentation by a homeopath, Manfred Mueller, who specializes in cancer and other scary diseases.

I contacted Manfred at his North Carolina office and worked with him for over a year by phone, a wonderfully convenient aspect of homeopathy, since he was on the opposite coast. We talked regularly and he mailed me my remedies. He had a large caseload but he and his staff were also remarkably present and available, something one rarely if ever experiences with a physician.

Manfred reviewed my medical records. (He regularly presents cured cases to medical school faculty and students in his state)  He told me that because the tumor was fairly large I more than likely would need surgery but said it would be at least a year before that would be needed. This coincided with my calculations based on my Pluto Mars aspects.

We went to work to build me up and to encapsulate the tumor. People were astounded at how healthy I looked, how vital I acted. During that time instead of crawling around sick and retching I worked full time managing a project for work and also completed my first book, Humanus Astrologicus.

When I did go for surgery, on my prescribed schedule, I was in great health. The surgeon I hand picked knew nothing about homeopathy but at my request arranged for me to have my homeopathic remedies during my hospital stay.

I knew he was well skilled but after more than 10 years working in healthcare management I was impressed by how present and available he was for me. He was amazed at how contained the tumor was and how rapidly I healed.

“What do you attribute that to?” I chided.

He shrugged and said, “Maybe that stuff you take?”

Amen.

  4. Totally awesome Deborah! As I mentioned, Astrologer Eileen Nauman recommended to me that I find a homeopath to address repeated yeast infections and the recent yet recurring UTI issues – but when I chose her, it turned out she healed herself of breast cancer – it came out of her skin, and when she described how it came out, I knew she was truthful due to my herbal training of how herbal salve works, but she used no herbs! When I asked her about uterine fibroids, she said, SURE we can take care of that – and anything else you have, we just need to find your constitutional remedy (of which is NOT in the lay homeopathic books by the way). She is also a spiritual healer and there were some ancestral imprints to remove. I am toward the end (about 85% dissolved or more) and incidentally at the time of this comment in a healing crisis – but after 3 more weeks, my pendulum tells me all will be gone! I hope everything remains on track for that, and I hope to keep you posted! I love your courage Deborah – and incidentally, my homeopath is also an Aquarius! WEHEW!!
